2023 was a great year for CRISiSLab as we hosted international interns and a research assistant. We had interns Adrian Durando from France and Lukas Kohler from Germany, who joined us towards the last half of the year, working on research topics such as earthquake early warning and disruptive technologies. Kasuni Adikari, originally from Sri Lanka, has been working with us since March 2023 working on a guidance note for crowdsourcing.
We organised a small seminar before we said goodbye to Adrian and Lukas in December. We had three presentations on 6 December 2023, highlighting their amazing work:
Adrian Durando – P-wave to S-wave Relationship using Machine Learning.
Lukas Kroher – Disruptive technologies for emergency management in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Kasuni Adikari – Crowdsourcing Guidance Note for High Impact Weather projects.
